Selected Stories
Read over a couple of summer weeks, a story or two in the evening. What stays with me is how the stories end: they don't so much finish as stop, usually just after the moment you expected a resolution.
"The Lady with the Dog" is the one everyone mentions, and it deserves it. "Gooseberries" stayed with me longer, a short story about happiness that manages to be quietly unsettling.
Next time I want to try a different translation and compare.
